Fall Book Sale

Join the Mount Gilead Public Library October 14th through 19th at our annual fall book sale. A variety of materials that have been withdrawn from library circulation as well as items donated to the library will be available on the second floor in the book sale area. Materials available include: books, magazines, DVD's, Blu-Rays, Audiobooks and other materials. All materials are by donation only. Proceeds from the Library Fall Book Sale goes to purchase new materials for the library.

FREE Quilting Class

Join local quilter Sandy Lyman for a FREE Quilting by Sewing Machine Class. Beginning September 15th and lasting for 6 weeks (no class on October 6th) this class will teach participants the beginning methods to quilting using a sewing machine. The class is free, but pre-registration is required by calling (419) 947-5866 or stopping by the 3rd floor of the library. Please bring notebook and pen or pencil to first class. This class will be held at the Mount Gilead Public Library Annex located next to the library at 35 East High Street. Please note that the Mount Gilead Public Library is closed on Sundays

MTC's ASPIRE Program Resumes

The Aspire Program at Marion Technical College (MTC) is a tuition-free service for people who need to work on basic math, reading, or writing skills that help them be more successful in their college courses, their employment situation, or their preparations for taking a high school equivalency (HSE) exam. Both college students and non-college students participate in Aspire classes.

Off the Hook (Crocheting) with Kelly

Off the Hook with Kelly - Tie a string around your finger so you don’t forget to attend MGPL’s new Crochet Club. All experience levels are welcome, from beginner to expert. Get hooked on crocheting! Ages 12 and up preferred. Meets Tuesdeays at 5:30 PM on the 3rd floor of the library. Please bring your own materials.

Pages & Popcorn - The One & Only Ivan

Young readers can stop by the Mount Gilead Public Library to pick up their reserved copy of "The One and Only Ivan" starting July 18th. Books can be read in a variety of ways: audiobook, independently read by the child, or read aloud by an adult with the child. During the meeting on July 25th, Miss Melissa will walk readers though thoughtful discussion – just like an adult book club! Recommended for grades 1-6. Popcorn will be available as a refreshment. This book concludes Pages & Popcorn for the 2019 Summer Reading Program.

Pages & Popcorn - The Cricket in Times Square

Young readers can stop by the Mount Gilead Public Library to pick up their reserved copy of "The Cricket in Time Square" starting June 27th. Books can be read in a variety of ways: audiobook, independently read by the child, or read aloud by an adult with the child. During the meeting on July 11th (TWO WEEKS to read this one!!!!!), Miss Kelly will walk readers though thoughtful discussion – just like an adult book club! Recommended for grades 1-6. Popcorn will be available as a refreshment. You can also pick up your reserved copy of our next book: Ivy & Bean (Book 1)
