MTC to hold FREE Aspire Program at MGPL

The Aspire Program at Marion Technical College (MTC) is a free service for students who want to work on basic math, reading, or writing skills that help them transition into, and be more successful in, their college courses. Classes are a unique blend of individual study and small group lecture focusing on each student’s academic needs. There is a limit to the amount of financial aid college students may receive, so the fee-free class is an excellent “first step” in pursuing your dreams and stretching your college dollars.

Because instruction is individualized and self-paced in the Aspire Program, many people join classes to prepare for High School Equivalency (HSE) testing, such as the GED, HiSET, or TASC test. Our instructors are familiar with a wide range of academic materials and knowledgeable about the demands of these tests making the classes a perfect match for students wanting to attain the HSE credential. Other Aspire students work on basic academic skills to improve their chances for employment or to be eligible for better jobs at their place of employment.

If you need to improve your basic math, reading, or writing skills, or if you want to prepare for an HSE test, we stand ready to help. Call the Aspire Office Assistant, Liz White, at 740-386-4123 to set up your Intake and Orientation appointments. Once you have completed those appointments, you will be scheduled for free classes at one of the following locations:
